Hold on Tight!!!

Katie got to try the flying fox with mum out of town at first, quickly learning the meaning (and consequence) of "hold on tight!" and "use both hands!". Winter feels like a long long time ago when you can play outside all day and then enjoy a BBQ at night with friends.

Cool Cat

They don't seem to sit very well...
Is my nose too small...
Ah ha!!!

By the way Katies arm is good as gold again now. Still have to be a bit careful lifting her but she doesn't appear to be in any pain and is dragging herself up on stuff and clowning around like nothing had ever happened.

Poor Katie!

Katie has had a couple of rough patches this weekend...
On Saturday she threw the biggest tantrum I have ever seen when she objected to havíng to back inside after playing with her friend J in the sandpit. She ran around the house wildly, threw her self on the floor, hit us and got herself so wound up that she was eventually sick... I hope this was an exceptional outburst and not a sign of things to come!
Being made to come inside might not warrent the sort of reaction we expeienced yesterday, but today she really did have a reason to be sad. We were out at IKEA looking for some bathroom storage and were about to leave the store. Katie ran away to the esculator, I ran after her and grabbed her rist to stop her from climbing on. She dropped to her knees to mark that she wasnt happy and then started balling her eyes out. Thinking it was another fit we picked her up and took her to the car. When we got back home we realised that she wasnt moving one of her arms. We took her to hospital and it turned out that she had a partially dislocated elbow :(. The doctor cracked it back into place and it was as good as gold in seconds (or maybe it was just all the painkillers that got shoved up her butt!). Now she appears to be fine but I have to swing her around by her feet for the next few weeks until it is completely healed.

Easter Holiday

We got back from a great Easter getaway late last night with a tired but relatively happy minimonster. She is very adept at communicating her wishes and made it very clear on the last 2 hour long stretch that she didn't want to be in the car anymore "Stupid car!".

It all started with a family get-together up in Ludvika. As you can see spring has made a big dent in the ice and with temperatures pushing 18 degrees shorts, singlet and saddles are more than justified (if you are tough). Sara was somewhat less than impressed when we rolled up to the ski field the next day and I was still wearing the aforementioned attire... :)

The collapsed icesheet makes for a great slide but a cold butt...
Anything Dad can do I can do better (when I toughen up a bit...)
Like most events, this one was well documented...
Sälen!!!
Getting in some practice on the "Trollvo" so that she can help Grandad with the mowing at the end of the year.
When it was time to head on up to the waffel hut some people used their brains and took the easy road...
Some people didn't...
And others just took the oppurtunity to have a little nap while others did all of the hard work!
But in the end it was all worth it!

Happy Easter Everybody!

You are probably wondering why Katie has got freckles all over her face... No, she hasn't been digging in Sara's makeup bag and come up with 2009s latest trend! Here in Sweden all the kids dress up as little witches at Easter time. Now I could be wrong but I cant remember any witches in the bible stories we were taught as kids. The missionaries must have had to spice the stories up a bit over here to capture the vikings interest back in the old days...

Naughty Girl!

Katie got felt pens for her birthday. A stroke of genius aunty J!!!

Bugs bugs bugs

I am afraid of a lot of things. Heights, bugs, darkness, you name it.
Dean and I have decided that we don't want Katie to be a scaredycat.
So she is quite a brave wee girl. Throws herself off the coach without hesitation.

Despite all this, something has gotten to her.
Today she announced a new fobia.
Katie is scared of.......ladybugs!

Didn't see that coming, did you?
Of all bugs to be afraid of, she picks the only cute one.

It was hot outside today.
Katie wouldn't let us keep the balcony door open.
The ladybugs could get in....
